Jean Genet
Jean Genet as a young man. Prisoner, thief, novelist, Frenchman, prostitute, homosexual, adventurer, author of THE MIRACLE OF THE ROSE, and OUR LADY OF THE FLOWERS, THIEF'S JOURNAL and FUNERAL RITES. Edmund White wrote a great biography, named, only GENET. Satre's romantization of Gener may be a bit too much, but it is interesting. He changed the playing field.
